A 36-year-old Rochester man is facing a second degree murder charge after the death of another Rochester man Monday morning.

Police say they were sent to 40 Resolute Circle to check on the welfare of 52-year-old Ted Morris Sr. They found him dead of multiple stab wounds.

During their investigation, they learned that Evan Guzman was a potential suspect. They found him on North Clinton Avenue and he was arrested.

Police say Guzman knocked on Morris’ door about 5:00 a.m. When Morris answered, Guzman stabbed him multiple times then ran away. It’s believed the two men know each other, but police aren’t saying anything about a motive.

Guzman has a prior record and was released from prison in April after he failed to register as a sex offender. During his time in prison, he assaulted a guard.
