A man who tried to defuse a fight Thursday evening was stabbed to death on Frost Avenue, leading to the arrest of a parolee on a charge of second degree murder.

Police say 42-year-old Antoine Parris was found suffering from a stab wound to the upper body about 6:45 Thursday evening. He was rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital but died shortly after he arrived.

Investigators learned that Parris had gotten involved in a family argument between several people and 29-year-old Lequan Hill, who was out on parole from a robbery conviction and wearing a tracking bracelet. Parris tried to mediate the argument, but Hill stabbed him.

Hill was arrested later in the evening in the area of Ford Street. Both men were residents of Frost Avenue.

Police say Hill had been arrested by parole officers October 24 after cutting off his monitoring bracelet, but he was released with a new one.
