A 25-year-old Rochester man has been charged with robbery, assault and grand larceny for a carjacking on Monroe Avenue in Pittsford.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says a grand jury indicted Andrey Ognonovskiy on those charges after he shoved a woman out of her car as she waited at a red light, then drove off with it.
Ogonovskiy had previously snatched a woman’s purse at Pittsford Plaza, and tried to use her key fob to locate her car. But she chased him down, and he ran away.
Ogonovskiy allegedly committed these crimes June 25th. On the 29th he was arrested for a similar crime by Webster police, and has been in the Monroe County Jail ever since.
