A Firefighter slipped on ice and suffered an ankle injury, but nobody else was hurt in bringing a fire under control on Rochester’s west side Thursday morning. Six residents escaped safely.
The fire was called out about 6:30 a.m. on Arnett Boulevard. Crews arrived to find the multi-family home engulfed in flames. A second alarm was called because of the building’s size, and firefighters had to be pulled out of the building when the roof became unstable.
The RFD says crews will be on scene all day dousing hot spots and making sure the fire doesn’t re-ignite.
