The average price for a gallon of gas in New York State rose by four cents over the last week to $2.77.

For Rochester, the regional average is up a penny at $2.71 a gallon. For Buffalo it’s the same price, but up two cents from last week. Syracuse is also averaging $2.71, up a cent from a week ago.

The AAA says it’s seeing increased demand for gasoline due to spring break travel, accounting for the increases. Exports of gasoline and oil from the U.S. are also up due to increasing world demand.
