Eighth graders at Arcadia Middle School will start the school year in space set aside for them in the Arcadia High School building.

They’ll be just across the bridge that connects the two buildings from the rest of the middle school while construction crews continue working to fix problems with the school’s roof and second floor fireproofing.

With the start of school coming up, a re-roofing project at Arcadia to fix damage from the March windstorm led to the discovery that fireproofing material had been dislodged and fallen inside the second floor. School officials decided to close the second floor while repairs were made.

School will start with grades 6 and 7 on the first floor, and the 8th graders moved temporarily to the high school building. Info about class schedules is on the school’s web site.
