The April windstorm didn’t measure up to the March windstorm. The top gust was about 50 miles per hour, compared to more than 80 for the March storm that cut power to some 120,000 area residents.
This time some trees did fall and about 350 RG&E customers lost power. About 200 outages were still being reported late Tuesday night.
Part of the former Mott’s apple warehouse in Hamlin collapsed during the winds. The process was started during last month’s storm, but this time a good chunk of the long-abandoned building was flattened.
