Mugshot-Blackshell Jr, Johnny
Johnny Blackshell Jr. was sentenced to life without parole as the shooter in the Boys & Girls Club murders.

On the one-year-anniversary of the mass shooting on Genesee Street in Rochester one man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole, while two other suspects go on trial in October.

A jury found Johnny Blackshell Jr. guilty on three counts of first degree murder in June. He was the man who fired the shots into a crowd leaving a basketball game at the Boys and Girls Club. Jalen Everett and Michael Mathis will be tried in the fall. Three young men were killed and four injured on that night.

Mayor Lovely Warren and other officials will dedicate a plaque outside the Boys and Girls Club today to mark the anniversary.
A service commemorating all victims of gun violence in Rochester will be held at 6:30 this evening at the Inner Faith Gospel Tabernacle Church on York Street.
