A parolee’s ankle monitoring bracelet led to his arrest by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office over the weekend, after it linked him to an armed robbery at a Subway restaurant in Chili.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect who held the place up at knifepoint was a white male, well over six feet tall with blue eyes. That description fit six-foot-seven Adam Hettig of Chili, a parolee with an ankle monitoring bracelet. The Monroe County Crime Analysis Center notified deputies that Hettig’s bracelet showed he was at the Subway at the time of the robbery. Deputies questioned him and he admitted to the crime.

Hettig has been arraigned and is being held in the Monroe County Jail on $10,000 bail.
