The Humane Society has filed animal cruelty charges against a Perinton Couple who were found to have more than 100 cats and two dogs in their house on Kreag Road.

The numerous animals were found when fire broke out at the house in January. Humane Society investigators say they found several dead and decomposing cats, as well as feces several inches thick in parts of the house.

George and Pamela Meyer were arrested on charges of failure to provide veterinary services to the animals. Both are to appear in Perinton Town Court on April 13th.

48 of the cats are now in new homes.
