Rochester’s new intermodal railroad and bus passenger station is on track to be finished by the end of this summer, after nearly two-and-a-half years of construction.
Congresswoman Louise Slaughter toured the project yesterday. She helped secure $15 million in Federal Railroad Administration funding.
The station includes two new parallel tracks that let passenger trains stop to load without getting in the way of freight trains, which can pass on through. The building has have full passenger facilities and amenities for both Amtrak and intercity bus riders.
