ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Americans announced today the team has recalled goaltender Jason Kasdorf from the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL.

Kasdorf, 24, rejoins the Amerks after appearing in 3 games with the team this season. A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Kasdorf boasts a 2-2-0 record with a 3.50 goals-against average and a .881 save percentage in 4 appearances with the Jackals. He picked up his first pro win on Nov. 27 against the Manchester Monarchs, making 24 saves on 25 shots in a 2-1 overtime victory.

Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound netminder completed a 4-year collegiate career at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (R.P.I.), posting a record of 38-37-9 in 88 games to go along with 2.39 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage.

Rochester’s regular goalie Linus Ullmark sustained an injury when he collided with one of his own players late in the second period of Wednesday’s 5-2 win over the Toronto Marlies. He did not return for the third period as John Muse finished the game. Muse stopped all 8 shots he faced.

The team ended its 4-game losing streak with the victory over the Marlies.

The Amerks travel to Pennsylvania on Friday to face the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, before returning to the Blue Cross Arena for a rare Saturday night game against the St. John’s IceCaps.
