Rochester signs Vasily Glotov and Tyler Randall to AHL contracts.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Americans General Manager Randy Sexton announced on Wednesday that the team has signed forwards Vasily Glotov and Tyler Randall to 1-year American Hockey League contracts.
The 20-year-old Glotov returns to the Amerks after making his AHL debut last season, appearing in one game for Rochester. Glotov also made his professional debut with the Cincinnati Cyclones, Rochester’s ECHL affiliate, recording 1 goal and an assist over a 5-game stretch from Mar. 22 to Mar. 30.
Additionally, the 5-foot-11, 174-pound forward completed his second season in the QMJHL with the Shawinigan Cataractes, scoring a team-high 29 goals and ranking second on the team with 43 points in 64 games.
A native of Moscow, Russia, Glotov was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the seventh round (190th overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
Randell joins the Amerks after spending last season with the AHL Belleville Senators. The 27-year-old winger recorded 8 points (3+5) in 57 games with the Senators in addition to 94 penalty minutes.
In his AHL career, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward has notched 51 points (21+30) and 489 penalty minutes in 288 games with Belleville and Providence. Randell also appeared in 25 Calder Cup Playoff games with the Bruins, recording one goal.
The Scarborough, ONT. native made his NHL debut with the Boston Bruins during the 2015-16 campaign, scoring 6 goals in 27 games.
Randell was selected by the Bruins in the sixth round (176th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
