Hershey completes a sweep of Rochester’s trip to the Keystone State over the weekend.
HERSHEY, PA. — The Rochester Americans lost all 3 games over the weekend on their trip through Pennsylvania, and fourth straight overall, following a 6-1 defeat on Sunday evening to the Hershey Bears in Chocolatetown.
The Amerks also lost games on Friday and Saturday nights in Allentown against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Rookie Kyle Bonis put the Amerks on the scoreboard first with a short-handed goal midway through the opening period agaiunst Hershey. Evan Rodrigues and Erik Burgdoerfer assisted on the play.
The Bears evened the count, 1-1, in the same manner with a short-handed goal early in the second period.
Rochester goalie Linus Ullmark was lit up for 5 goals total in the stanza, including 2 on power plays, as the Bears took a commanding 5-1 advantage into the third period. He finished with 36 saves as the Amerks were outshot, 42-18.
Rochester returns to the Blue Cross Arena on Wednesday for a 7:05 game against the Toronto Marlies.
