Rochester starts the homestand with Hall of Fame night on Friday.

*After beginning the week with a 3-2 overtime victory over the Utica Comets On Wednesday at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, the Amerks dropped both ends of a weekend home-and-home series to the Syracuse Crunch on Friday and Saturday with both being one-goal decisions. Despite falling behind 3-0 in the first period in Saturday’s game, Rochester was able pull within a goal on the strength of a two-goal third period but could not complete the comeback.

*Second-year forward Nick Baptiste became the first Amerk this season to reach the 20-goal mark thanks to his third-period tally in Saturday’s 4-3 loss in Syracuse. Baptiste, who reached the mark in just 45 games after opening the season with 14 goals through his first 18 games, enters the week tied for ninth in the AHL in goals, which includes a team-best eight power-play tallies. He also leads the Amerks with a team-high four multi-goal games this season, including his first career hat trick which came back on Dec. 14 vs. Toronto.

*Newcomer Patrick Mullen has been a valuable addition to the Amerks, having recorded seven points (3+4) since joining the team on Feb. 1. Mullen, who last weekend set a career-high by scoring a goal in three straight games for the Amerks, has already moved into the third in scoring among all Rochester defensemen despite appearing in just 10 games.

* The Amerks begin a four-game homestand with back-to-back home games this weekend, beginning on Friday at 7:05 p.m. game against St. John’s. Prior to the game, former Calder Cup champion and team captain Scott Nichol will be inducted into the Amerks Hall of Fame alongside longtime team reporter Kevin Oklobzija as the Class of 2017. Super Hero Night returns for the second straight year on Saturday, March 4 when Rochester hosts the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
