An AMR ambulance was rolled into its side by a crash Sunday morning in Rochester. Police say the ambulance was hit by a car at Broad and Jay Streets on the West Side.

The van rolled over and slid about 30 yards down the road before stopping. The car drove on down Jay Street before breaking down. The driver then ran away.

The ambulance was carrying a patient who remained strapped to her gurney and was taken to the hospital by another ambulance. The two ambulance attendants were injured and treated at Strong Memorial.

The incident remains under investigation.
