There’s another candidate in the race for Mayor of Rochester, and this time he’s not a Democrat, although he will seek the Democratic endorsement.
Alex White is running for a third time on the Green Party ticket. The Rochester businessman ran in 2011 and 2013. He owns Boldo’s Armory on Monroe Avenue and is a long-time critic of taxpayer deals for high-end retail and housing projects. He says that money should be spent on affordable housing made by renovating rundown city homes, using local labor.
White says he’s running because Rochester deserves better, and has the resources to do it. He says Progressive ideas are the way to get there.
