New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has introduced a “Comprehensive Contraception Coverage Act,” saying it’s necessary to ensure access to cost-free contraception for New York women.
The attorney general says it’s a counter to Congressional Republicans’ move to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which requires contraceptive care be made available cost-free. It would require state regulated health insurance policies to provide coverage for all FDA approved methods of birth control, including emergency contraception.
