Rochester Police are investigating a string of apparently unrelated incidents that left seven people shot Wednesday afternoon and evening.
The first occurred around 2:00 on Fourth Street, between Goodman and the Public Market. A 19-year-old female was shot in the upper body, and a 17-year-old male was shot in the lower body. Neither injury appears to be life threatening.
About 90 minutes later, officers were called to Norfolk Street, near Strong Memorial Hospital. They found a 26-year-old city man with multiple gunshot wounds. He is being treated at Strong, also for non-life threatening injuries. Police say he was driven to Norfolk Street and are still trying to determine where he was actually shot.
Four people were then hit with shotgun pellets at about 8:00 p.m. near the corner of Genesee Street and Kirkland Road. The victims were all men, in their late 20s and early 30s. All are expected to recover.
There have been no arrests in any of these incidents so far.
