Braddock Bay Project Announced

Hundreds of Great Lakes advocates gathered in Washington, DC today for a lobbying effort designed to save the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.

The Trump Administration budget proposal cuts 25 percent of the EPA’s funding, and cuts the initiative from $300 million to just $30 million a year. That’s roughly what the initiative is putting into the rehabilitation of Braddock Bay in Greece, and that’s just one project.

Great Lakes organizations are tackling members of Congress, Republicans and Democrats alike, from all districts lining the Great Lakes. They say the program is vital to protect drinking water quality and the environment of one-fifth of the earth’s fresh water.
