Supporters of a Rochester Police Accountability Board rallied on the steps of City Hall Tuesday evening, protesting an amendment that would add a retired police officer to the panel.

Council did not take up the issue at Tuesday night’s meeting.

The city has been considering establishing a board of city residents that would review police conduct and be independent of both city government and the police department. A recent amendment would provide for a retired officer to be a voting member of the panel.
