This style of training is completely different than what’s in normal health clubs around the country.” – Dan Fichter

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Dan Fichter has been very successful for many years training athletes of all levels to improve their physical performance. Now his Wanna Get Fast Power/Speed Training company is offering these same alternative training techniques to adults.

“We’re going to open up training for the adult population,” Fichter said. “We’ve been training athletes for years and years and have never really branched out into the adult population, in terms of the general public.

“But what we feel we do from a neurological standpoint can really help and benefit adults, just to create a better fitness profile.”

One of the key pieces of equipment Fichter has been using since he opened his business is the vibrating platform, which originally was an invention in the former Soviet Union to benefit and train athletes.

“The vibration platform is a huge part of what we will be doing because you actually can get the same benefits of non-load barring exercises without putting weight on your back,” said Fichter. “We’re talking about bone density. We’re talking about muscle growth and stimulation without loading the back, which is big part for seniors, and for anybody, to be honest with you.”

Fichter has trained many professional athletes including pro hockey players Chris Thorburn (Winnipeg Jets), Stanley Cup champion Brian Gionta (Greece) (Buffalo Sabres), Ryan Callahan (Hilton) (Tampa Bay Lightning, US Olympic Team), Rory Fitzpatrick (Irondequoit) (Buffalo Sabres),  Shane Prince (Spencerport) (New York Islanders), Olympic track and field star Victoriya Rybalko from the Ukraine, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders shortstop Cito Culver (Irondequoit), UFC fighter Mike Massenzio, Oakland A’s 2nd baseman Andy Parrino (Brockport), Washington Nationals Infielder Chris Bostick (Gates Chili), along with Washington Nationals pitcher Brian Dupra (Greece).

Fichter has coached athletes in all sports from all over the country. He is in two different Halls of Fame for his own athletic prowess in football.

Fichter retired from teaching in the West Irondequoit School District to run his business full-time. As a high school coach his resume is quite impressive. As head track and field coach at Irondequoit High School, the Eagles lost one dual meet (head to head) and won 6 Section V Championships in 8 years. He also is a multiple winner of Coach of the Year awards.

As Irondequoit’s head football coach, he took a winless team in 2012 and rebuilt them to a state semifinalist and Section V championship within two years of being named the head coach.

Adults will be able to benefit from Fichter’s training on a weekly basis.

“We will be running programs three nights out of the week and three mornings,” he said. “The sessions will last 45 minutes to an hour long. The cost will be anywhere from $100 to $200 a month, depending on how many times the individual wants to train. A package for everybody.”

The training program will be designed for each individual, starting from where the person is now and planned for where the person wants to be in the future.

“It will start where you fit in in terms of profile, fitness level, and your age group, what you’re capable of and where we can bring you to,” Fichter said. “It’s a holistic approach and a very individualized approach.

“We have a special trainer coming in, Phil Prinzi coming in from a current job that he had where he was highly respected. It’s going to be great to work with him.”

The program already is accepting early sign-ups with the goal to start training next week Monday or Tuesday with the first group beginning training. The training schedule will be posted on their website: www.wannagetfast.com. People also can sign up for the program by going to the website as well, or by calling (585) 485-0471.

The program will be ongoing, Fichter said. People can try it out for a month and continue with a monthly payment. There is no long-term contract to be signed.

“People can try it out for a month and see if they like it,” Fichter said. “But we’re pretty confident that once you come in here and experience this type of training, it’s radically different that what’s out there, that people will feel energized and like it. It will sell itself.

“This style of training is completely different than what’s in normal health clubs around the country.”
