An accused drug dealer police say commanded a marijuana ring that used violence to secure its drug houses will remain in federal custody pending his trial after a court appearance.
Brandon Washington is accused of bringing in out-of-town gang members, including the man accused of killing a Rochester police officer and wounding another, to attack rival gangs. Police say that’s how Brandon Vickers got to Rochester. He’s the man accused of shooting to death Officer Anthony Mazurkiewicz and wounding his partner while they were keeping surveillance on a drug house.
The complaint brought in court said investigators got a warrant to tap Washington’s phone and intercepted calls that led them to get further search warrants and recover guns, marijuana and about $10,000 in cash.
