The Massachusetts man accused of shooting and killing Rochester Police Officer Anthony Mazurkiewicz and wounding his partner has been arraigned on charges of aggravated murder and aggravated attempted murder, plus second degree murder, assault and weapon possession.
An attorney for Kelvin Vickers entered a not guilty plea, which is standard for this type of charge.
Officers Mazurkiewicz and Sino Seng were in an unmarked vehicle on a homicide detail when Vickers allegedly crept up on them and opened fire from the cover of a nearby bush.
Several RPD officers and the Mazurkiewicz family were in court for the arraigment on Wednesday.
