The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says an alert Henrietta resident led to the arrest of a thief on Hollybrook Road.
A spokesman says a woman called 911 late Tuesday night when she spotted a man looking inside her car and others parked on the street. A deputy connected that man with a Jeep Cherokee he spotted in the area and pulled it over. The driver turned out to be 20-year-old Colby Kramer of Mendon, and the Jeep belonged to a Mendon woman who had left it parked in her driveway with the keys in it.
Deputies found a woman’s wallet in plain view inside the Jeep which belonged to the woman who made the 911 call and had been stolen from her car. Kramer also had a credit card linked to a stolen truck that was recovered in Mendon.
Kramer has been charged with several counts of possession of stolen property. He’s being held on $20,000 bail.
