A woman who called 911 Tuesday night led to the arrest of a 16-year-old armed robbery suspect who may have held up people at a number of ATMs across Monroe County.
Gates police put a warning on Facebook Tuesday about a possible robber lurking around ATMs and holding up people at gunpoint who had just taken out cash. Nicole Kuntz had seen that warning and spotted someone in the bushes near an ATM as she drover by the bank. She immediately pulled over and called 911.
Police arrested the 16-year-old suspect who was hiding in the bushes. He was dressed in black and had a BB gun which he had used to threaten his victims.
Police believe the teen may be responsible for a string of robberies across Monroe County. He’s being held in secure detention and has been charged as an adult with first-degree robbery.
