Quick action by a nine-year-old saved a house on Newton Road in Greece from being destroyed by fire on Wednesday.
Victoria Brice was having breakfast with her grandmother when she noticed something didn’t seem right about her neighbor’s house. She thought she saw smoke coming from the roof.
Victoria told her grandmother, who called 911 and sent her daughter to alert the neighbors.
The Ridge Road Fire District arrived in two-and-a-half minutes and was able to douse a fire before it spread to the attic. The fire turned out to be caused by a bird’s nest touching a power line. They say by spotting the fire, Victoria Bice saved the house and the people inside.
