A six-year-old child suffered pain in his wrist and some bruises, but no serious injuries after he was run over by a car in Perinton on Wednesday.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the elderly driver was issued tickets for having an uninspected vehicle and making an unsafe start.
The accident happened at Linden Oaks when the driver was attempting to pull out of a parking space. He confused the gas and the brake, jumped the car over the curb separating the parking lanes and hit both the child and an SUV.
Brighton firefighters used airbags to life both vehicles and get the child out from underneath. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for a checkup.
