ROCHESTER, N.Y. — We recently caught up with Rochester Rattlers Head Coach, Tim Soudan. Coach Soudan and staff are busy getting ready for training camp, which kicks of next month. We asked Coach Soudan five questions regarding the Rattlers 2017 season, as well as, playing at Capelli Sport Stadium for the upcoming 2017 Rattlers season.

1. What are your thoughts about the upcoming 2017 season?
I believe we have a championship caliber team now we need to go prove it.

2. What three things do you enjoy most about coaching the Rattlers?
#1- Love the guys on the team! True family atmosphere!
#2- I love the level of competition, it brings me back to my playing days.
#3- I love the time I get to spend with my coaching staff, Coach Monte and I have been together since HS, Warder is a beauty! And sometimes we have Coach Hobart grace us with his presence.  Just three smart guys that make me look good.

3. Were you more nervous coaching or playing in your first MLL game?
Coaching for sure!  Playing I was 33 years old-not that nervous at that point of my career.

4. The 2017 draft is now in May over Memorial Day weekend (as it was a few years ago), talk about what type of players you will be looking to draft this season.
I think that we have some needs for depth for sure, we don’t have a first rounder so we will be looking at finding guys that will fit in the locker room and are committed to playing and best available.  Middies are always important in this league.

5. What are you most excited about playing at Capelli Sport Stadium (formerly Rhinos Stadium) for 2017 season?
I think it just lends itself to a more professional feel!  I will personally miss Aquinas and the guys that helped us over there.
