Rochester police say officers on patrol late Wednesday night came upon a four-way crash at the intersection of Dewey Avenue and Emerson Street that sent five people to the hospital.
Police say a northbound Ford Escape hit the curve at Emerson Street and crossed over into the southbound lane. The Ford rammed a Kia Sorrento, shoving the Kia into an Audi. The Ford rolled over and struck a Nissan Sentra before stopping.
Two Greece residents, a 25-year-old and a two-year-old from the Sentra were taken to the hospital. A 23-year-old Greece resident and a 20-year-old city resident from the Sorrento also went to the hospital. All the injuries were non-life threatening. The 38-year-old city resident driving the Ford also went to the hospital. He was charged with DWI and other violations. Police say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
