A warehouse on Leighton Avenue was heavily damaged in a four-alarm fire Sunday night. One end of the structure was destroyed before a firewall and fire crews prevented the blaze from spreading to the rest of the building. No injuries were reported.
Rochester Fleet Feet, a major promoter of area running events, said by Twitter that it lost nearly all of its event equipment in the fire. More than 25 years’ worth of equipment and supplies were lost. The next race is in 11 days, and Fleet Feet says they will be ready. But they ask people to bear with them for these next few weeks while they work to replace what was lost.
