A third person has died of COVID-19 in Monroe County, according to the morning update by the Monroe County Health Department.

As of Tuesday morning, there are 95 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Monroe County. The patient who died overnight was at Strong Memorial Hospital. County Health Commissioner Michael Mendoza asks that the person’s loved ones be kept in prayer, as well as the healthcare workers on the front lines.

Of the new patients, one is a girl in her teens, and the others range from both men and women in their 20s to their 90s.

Thirteen people are hospitalized as of Tuesday morning. The health department doesn’t release numbers of people who have recovered, but Dr. Mendoza says it’s in line with the national pattern, with about 80 percent recovering and most not becoming very ill.
