WNY players Taylor Smith, Micheala Hahn, and Makenzy Doniak will be making the trip.
ELBA, N.Y. — In hopes of making an impact outside of the soccer arena, three members of Western New York Flash and one member from the Orlando Pride are preparing to take a mission trip to Costa Rica to spread God’s word and give back.
From Jan. 18-25, Taylor Smith, Micheala Hahn, Makenzy Doniak, and Jamia Fields will travel to Costa Rica to share stories of grace, interact with the local children, and ultimately be the hands and feet of Christ.
“We’re super excited about this opportunity,” Smith said. “We are so grateful that each day we get to live our dream, and next year we want to encourage others that they can do the same no matter their background.”
“We are beyond grateful to be able to play the sport we love and know that our talents and abilities come from the Lord. We would love nothing more than to put our faith to work and serve the Lord by sharing His good word and our love for Him.”
“Very excited that God gave us this opportunity to serve Him for people in need. It’s awesome that we will be able to impact the lives of many while sharing the joy of soccer with them!” Hahn said.
“We can never say thank you enough for helping make this trip possible. Your generosity will be making a huge impact in not only our lives, but those we will serve in Costa Rica as well, thank you for letting us experience this.”
The quartet of players is still accepting donations for travel and also supplies for the children in Costa Rica. Your money will be put towards flights, food, and room and board. You can donate here: http://bit.ly/2hoZdWw
