A Rochester house fire killed three dogs Sunday night, but a fourth dog was saved by emergency medical responders.
Firefighters were called about 8:40 p.m. for smoke coming from 712 Cedarwood Terrace. They found a fire had started in the kitchen and traveled upstairs to the bedrooms. The residents of the house, who had been out to dinner, came home and told firefighters about the four dogs inside.
All four dogs were pulled out of the burning house, but three died of smoke inhalation despite lifesaving efforts.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
