The Rochester City School Board held a special meeting Tuesday night, going into executive session to discuss hiring a new Chief Financial Officer. The previous CFO resigned last month as news broke of the district’s $30 million overspending problem. Superintendent Terry Dade said after the meeting that his pick will be announced sometime Wednesday.

Two Canandaigua residents are facing animal cruelty charges after a furniture-throwing brawl ended up killing one of their dogs. Canandaigua police say 60-year-old Frederick Moskala and 59-year-old Maryann Grant got involved in a fight during which they began throwing tables and chairs.
