The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Huron man with felony criminal possession of a firearm after he refused to turn over all his guns under an order of protection.
Daniel Spencer surrendered ten of the 20 firearms he owns under an order from the Monroe County Family Court. Wayne County Deputies who served the order got another warrant after smelling marijuana and searched the 28-year-old man’s home, finding more than a pound of marijuana and the remaining ten weapons. They also found three unregistered handguns, illegal prescription painkillers, LSD and other drugs plus cash.
Spencer is being held on $2,000 bail and more charges are coming.
