A pickup truck crashed into a tree on Lake Avenue about 1:15 Wednesday morning, trapping two passengers inside.
Rochester police say the Fire Department freed both people from the wreck, which was going north when it careened off he road in the 3700 block into a light pole and then a tree. The driver was able to get out and ran away, leaving the two passengers trapped. Police are searching for the driver.
The two passengers, one male and one female, both in their 40s, were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and are being treated. The man’s injuries are life threatening.
