ontario-county-courthouseEvery election we seem to get at least one cliffhanger. This year it’s in Ontario County, among the candidates seeking to fill former County Court Judge Craig Doran’s seat.

Doran was elected to State Supreme Court last year.

With the preliminary count in early Wednesday morning, Democrat Brian Dennis and Republican Terence Robinson jr. have exactly 21,967 votes each; a dead tie. After getting two final election districts counted during the day Wednesday, Dennis now leads by 139.

The Ontario County Board of Elections says that means absentee and affidavit ballots will decide it. They’ll be counted on November 15th.
