Ten Finger Lakes and Western New York Counties, but not Monroe, have signed a letter to Governor Kathy Hochul and the State Health Commissioner, urging them to drop the requirement that all health care workers in the state be vaccinated by September 27th.
The letter says enough health care workers in their counties are planning to quit their jobs over the vaccine mandate that it will disrupt health care and nursing home services.
The letter was signed by officials of Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Schuyler, Steuben, Wayne, Wyoming and Yates counties. It says some of their health care facilities have already had large numbers of staff giving notice and it’s already affecting patient care.
